The Center Stage Academy is thrilled to announce that starting in the 2025-2026 school year we will hold auditions for an elite group of young actors to be a part of our Center for the Arts Teen Company.  This group of A-List performers will be featured in two mainstage productions throughout the school year.  Our Center for the Arts Teen Company is an experience that will prepare our young performers for their collegiate and professional careers. Students will work alongside seasoned veterans from our CFTA adult performers to create outstanding performances. "13, the Musical" Auditions

The Center Stage Academy is thrilled to announce that auditions for the 2026-2027 Teen Company will be held on June 25 and 29, 2026. Our “Senior Teen” performers will be featured in the mainstage production of 13, the Musical September 11-20, and will have additional performance opportunities throughout the 26-27 school year. Our CFTA Teen Company is an experience that will prepare our young performers for their collegiate and professional careers. Students will work alongside seasoned veterans from our CFTA adult performers to create outstanding performances. FAQ

This is a pre-professional track for experienced student performers seeking to hone their craft at a more advanced level and who are interested in the pursuit of the performing arts at the university level or in their career.

Students who will be in grades 6th-12th for the 2026-2027 school year.

  • Students must have been a part of at least five jr. Or full-length productions.
  • Experience in school, community and professional theater are all accepted, and a mix of plays and musicals are preferred but not required.
  • A well-qualified student will have 3 or more years of experience in acting, dance, and vocal performance.
  • Every resume is unique, so be sure to include all of your experience! Private vocal lessons or dance classes are helpful, but not a requirement to audition.
  • Yes, however students will be required to re-audition each year.
  • Pre-requisites for the 2027-2028 school year may be amended as we fine tune the program.
  • 13, the musical – directed by Heather Steele with Amy Zerner and Q Rankins.
  • Performance dates September 11-20

  • Additional performance opportunities TBD, but students will participate in adjudication and a theater conference at some point in the academic year.
  • Not necessarily. Students may perform alongside a select few of our seasoned veteran CFTA adult performers when the script calls for it.
  • All adults who work with CSA go through a background check and fingerprinting process before being allowed to work with students.
  • No. You can choose whether to audition for every opportunity we offer, but you are not required to. Additionally, no casting is guaranteed.
  • All students will participate in all workshops and classes, and all students will perform in at least one show every school year. We will split “Jr. Company” and “Sr. Company” depending on how many students we have. This is our long-term goal, and will be implemented when it is appropriate for the size of the group. Some adjudication or learning opportunities may be appropriate for middle school and others for high school.
  • Yes. There is a fee of $200 for the school year. Scholarships are available, and payments can be split if needed.
  • How many students will be a part of the csa teen company each year?
    Approximately 10-20 students total.

Yes! There are classes and productions all year – there will some that conflict but others that are a good companion piece to the things that we are working on in teen company.

  • Rehearsals will reflect a typical mainstage schedule with multiple rehearsals each week for approximately 8-12 weeks prior to the performance.
  • Rehearsal length will be approximately 3 hours.
  • Times of rehearsals will be dependent on the availability of space. Typically, somewhere between the hours of 4:30pm-8:30pm.
  • Unlike mainstage – we will not hold students any later than 8:30 throughout regular rehearsals or 9:00 in tech week.
  • Workshop schedule is TBD. There will be more during the times that we are not in rehearsal on a show, and fewer closer to show dates. Students are not required to attend every workshop, but should plan on being there as often as possible.

Final auditions for 26-27 school year are June 25 and 29, 2026. Auditions for “13” will be shortly after.

  • Students will need a headshot, a resume and/or a letter of recommendation from a previous director. This could be a director from a community theatre or school. Recommendation letters are not required, but allow us an opportunity to learn more about students that we have not worked with in the past.

It is our goal that students will:

  • Gain experience in a production process that mimics professional theatrical environments.
  • Build a repertoire of audition pieces and skills.
  • Participate in workshops with theatre professionals.
  • Participate in adjudication opportunities.
